Memorialization

The Catholic Cemeteries Association offers you a variety of avenues for memorializing your loved ones. Proceeds from the sales of the following items help beautify and maintain your Cemetery.

Bouquet Holders

The BASILICA® bouquet holder is truly unique. The BASILICA® flower holder is mounted flush to the ground and is impervious to damage from trucks and other cemetery vehicles. The opening of the bouquet holder is designed in such a manner that the flower arrangement gains stability and stands in an upright position. The BASILICA® bouquet holder comes with a five year guarantee.

Fresh Flowers

We encourage the use of fresh flowers to honor your loved ones. Flowers are available at the following cemeteries April through October: Holy Cross, Akron; All Souls, Chardon; Calvary, Cleveland; Holy Cross, Cleveland; All Saints, Northfield. Fresh flowers are not permitted in the mausoleums.

Flowers for Crypts & Niches

The flowers in our program are designed exclusively for crypts and niches, and will be changed by our staff seasonally to assure a dust free and fresh appearance.

The length of our program is either one year or two years. The program will begin each season following your order and will end on that same date following your contracted period of coverage.

Remembrance Votive Candles

You may memorialize your loved ones with electric eternal light votive candles on a monthly or yearly basis. Remembrance Votive Candles can be found in mausoleums at the following cemeteries: Holy Cross, Akron; All Souls, Chardon; Calvary, Lorain; Holy Cross, Cleveland; All Saints, Northfield; St. Joseph, Avon and at the main office of Calvary, Cleveland.

True Votive

High quality construction features a unique streamlined design that adds beauty to any setting. An electronic flame is indistinguishable from a candle flame. The simulated candle burns continuously for eleven years. The patented, water-tight compartment is perfect for memorabilia. Photo of loved one can be placed in the top compartment.

Winter Wreaths & Crosses

Winter crosses and holiday wreaths have been available from the Catholic Cemeteries Association for many years. Holiday wreaths are permitted from November 1 through January 31, while winter crosses are permitted November 1 through March 15 each year.

Winter Roses

These artificial flowers are manufactured for our cemeteries and have been tested for durability. The bouquets are placed in the proper bouquet holder at the burial site by our cemetery staff.

Crypt Emblems

Bronze likenesses of Catholic icons gracing your loved ones crypt or niche offer a permanent reaffirmation of faith.

Crypt Portraits

Pictorial reproduction on ceramic offers a lasting tribute to your loved one.

Memorial Tree & Garden Program

A living memorial which is dedicated to someone's memory can provide lasting comfort and is a wonderful tribute of beauty and joy.

The Memorial Tree & Garden Program of the Catholic Cemeteries Association offers to families the unique opportunity to use the beauty of God's creation to memorialize the life of a loved one.

Our landscape designer will work with you to locate an available spot for your memorial. We can purchase and plant a tree or shrub in your loved one's name or our designer can develop a unique perennial cutting garden suitable to your wishes. Living memorials are a wonderful way to remember your loved ones while enhancing the beauty of our cemeteries for all to enjoy.

All memorials are placed within the cemetery according to availability of suitable terrain and Catholic Cemeteries Association regulations.

Cemetery personnel will give all plantings reasonable care, but their survival cannot be guaranteed in perpetuity. Trees and shrubs are guaranteed for one year. Plants and perennial cutting gardens are guaranteed for two years. Plantings will be made as weather and scheduling permit.

Each memorial will be identified via sign placement. A Memorial Planting Certificate, suitable for framing, will be mailed to the donor.

Donations for these projects are tax deductible.
